It’s my favorite time of year, (well almost) summer! I love so much about this time of the year. More quality time with my kids, daylight is longer, endless beach days, camping trips, staying up late with my kids, the list goes on.
One of my favorite summertime activities is to go to the different farmers markets around the island. We are so fortunate to live in an area where local produce and handmade goodies are in abundance, especially in the summer.
Let’s start off with “Moss St. Market.” I remember when I first moved to Victoria this was the first farmers market that I ever went to. I love the area of town that it’s in, it’s a very artsy area and there is always so much to take in when strolling along and picking out your fresh, local produce! It’s open now through October, every Saturday from 10am-2pm rain or shine! For more information on Moss St. Market or to learn how to become a vendor please check out: Moss Street Market
Next up is the “Esquimalt Farmers Market”. I’ve also been to this one and I really enjoyed it. They had live music, food trucks, ample seating, different vendors ranging from handmade art, jewelry, kids items and obviously the produce! What’s interesting about this one is instead of taking place on a weekend (usually when they take place) it takes place from June until Sept 19th,every Thursday from 4:30pm -7:30pm, rain or shine. I can’t wait to check this one out again. For more information on this farmers market please check out: Esquimalt Market
The next one I am going to talk about is from my home town of Qualicum Beach! What I love about this one is that it’s open Year Round! That’s right, every Saturday from 9:30am – Noon at 160 -172 Veterans Way. What’s ironic about this one is I grew up in Qualicum Beach but I honestly cannot say that I ever went to a single farmers market while growing up there. For more information (and there was a lot of info on the site) please check out: Qualicum Beach Farmers Market
There are just too many amazing markets to write about in one blog, I hope you enjoyed this and enjoy some of the farmers markets in the next few months 😀
Until Next Time….
