Overview
CompTIA A+ is a professional certification helping students gain technical skills in preventative maintenance, basic networking, installation, troubleshooting, communications, and IT Professionalism. CompTIA A+ certification is vendor-neutral and well-recognized in the industry. This certification covers the specific tasks and knowledge required for entry-level IT jobs.
Vancouver Island Works Project is the only training facility on Vancouver Island that offers face to face CompTIA A+ instruction. With the release of the CompTIA A+ Foundations Training 220-1001 and 220-1002 series exams, Vancouver Island Works Project brings the latest CompTIA A+ Integrated Learning Courseware developed with the highest standard to ensure every student meets the objectives of the relevant CompTIA certification exam.
Unlike other training institutions, Vancouver Island Works Project prides itself on being able to offer the CompTIA A+ training over 10 days rather than the standard five days. We believe that students should have the opportunity to not only get face-to-face instruction, but also hands-on experience with labs, hardware and troubleshooting scenarios.
Careers:
CompTIA A+ (comprised of Hardware component and Software component) and CompTIA Network+ are the two courses required to obtain entry level IT positions such as IT Help Desk, and Front Line Support (3 exams in total).

This course is designed for individuals who have basic computer user skills and who are interested in obtaining a job as an entry-level IT Technician. This course is also designed for students who are seeking the CompTIA A+ certification and who want to prepare for the CompTIA A+ 220-1001 (Core 1) Certification Exam and the CompTIA A+ 220-1002 (Core 2) Certification Exam.
