As a hard working woman and mama, I need and deserve to pamper myself from time to time. There are 3 places here in Vic that I LOVE to visit for this pampering!
The first one is Foxy Box. Founder and CEO of this amazing business is my kick ass friend Kyla Dufresne. I’ve been a friend and client of her’s for going on 6 years now. Foxy Box is hands down ‘The Best’ place in Victoria and Courtenay to go for ANY waxing needs. Their waxing salon is chic, modern, warm & welcoming! Their pack of lady staff is beyond amazing and fun spirited! They are all so cool and easy to talk to. They keep you chatting during your appointment and have it over in no time. Not only that, but they have a flat screen TV with classics playing to keep your mind off the “self-induced torture” 😛 Once a year they have an “Annual Client Appreciation Day,” where any 20 min waxing is completely FREE! They raise money on this day for local sexual health organizations in need by doing raffles. 2018 was their biggest year yet, between their Victoria & Courtenay teams they completed 218 free waxes! In addition, their Victoria location raised $529 for the “Island Sexual Health Clinic”, and their Courtenay location raised $391.50 for “Options for Sexual Health”! Kudos to this amazing business and the Foxy ladies who run it! The other place I LOVE to get pamperd is C&H Nail Spa. It’s a cute little nail boutique tucked away in Tuscany Village at 1638 Mckenzie Ave, unit 105. The staff there are very nice and friendly and definitely know how to make a lady feel relaxed and pampered! They have very comfortable massage chairs that you can recline in and relax in while you have a pedicure done. If you opt for the “Deluxe” mani/pedi you’ll be pampered to the 9’s! You’ll get a hot stone massage, hot towels, and arm massage, along with cuticle trims and lotion massaged all over your arms and legs! They have a huge selection of nail colours to choose from (I have to look over the colours for a good 10 minutes before I decide :P). They are the best place to go for an afternoon of pampering for your nails! I’ve been going to them for a couple of years now. Last but not least, I Love to go to “Kurves Brow Bar” in Hillside Mall. It’s ‘threading’ for your eyebrows versus the traditional waxing. I Love the threading technique and I go once a month with my mom for our “mother/daughter” bonding. We’ve gotten our eyebrows done together since I was 15 😀 The ladies at Kurves Brow Bar are very nice and do an amazing job, and we only go to them for this service! It is also very reasonable. They are located inside Hillside mall just a few feet away from Kernels, and just a few feet away from what used to be the inside mall entrance to Sears. You do not need to make an appointment with them as it’s just a walk-in service 🙂 I hope you can find time to go and pamper yourself to one or all of these amazing local businesses 😀 Happy Holidays!
